The Gnerd Podcast: Episode 04: Books!

In this Episode 04: Books, we talk about all of our favorite books! Prepare yourself for how Terry distanced himself for the shallowness of West Hollywood and retreated into books. We discuss the Idaho “Book It” program (bookitprogram.com), A Glee/Hunger Games crossover, the casting of the Hunger Games film, why we read young adult literature over everything else and why Terry has a Kim Possible text message tone that interrupts the episode.

We also try out a new longer format and feature guests/siblings Rocky Brewer and Jamie Brewer.

You are welcome for this long list. We mention the following authors and books:

Abarat series by Clive Barker
The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

The Gnerd Podcast: Episode 03: Star Trek and Beyond

And we’re back for Episode 03: Star Trek. In this episode Kimball and I talk about Star Trek. It’s something that I grew up watching while Kimball only recently discovered it. Naturally, I have school him on the finer details of Voyager. We also do our best to forget that Enterprise ever existed. There’s also something called Star Trek: Phase II that we discover and talk about. The video clip we watch in the podcast can be found here.

The Gnerd Podcast: Episode 02: Friendship is Magic (aka My Little Pony)

Announcing the much anticipated second episode of the Gnerd Podcast. Thank you everybody who tuned in to the first episode, and we hope you enjoy the second. In this installment Kimball and I discuss something very dear to us, My Little Pony. As kids we both enjoyed playing with the ponies and watching the cartoons. They have since brought back MLP as this awesome cartoon called Friendship is Magic. It’s pretty awesome. Oddly enough, it has become very popular, particularly with guys. Bronies, if you will. If you enjoy our single podcast about MLP, there is an entire podcast dedicated to dudes who enjoy MLP called Bronyville. Yeah, so it’s not just us.

If you enjoy the podcast, we’d love to hear from you. You can totally bug me on twitter or comment below. And make sure you subscribe via iTunes.

The Gnerd Podcast: Episode 01: Briar Hollow

Kimball and I are excited to announce a brand new collaboration! Feeling that we’ve already explored the “web comic about nerds”  genre, we’ve decided to expand in to the “podcast featuring gnerds” field. Yes, that’s “gnerds” with a silent G. What’s a gnerd? Webster’s online dictionary describes a Gnerd as “The word you’ve entered isn’t in the dictionary.” An alternative definition is “the cultural classification of people who self-identify as gay and as a nerd.” Gnerd equals gay nerds, which is what/who Kimball and I are. We hope to have a new podcast every other Wednesday. Right now we’re currently “pending review” on iTunes, but when that “pending” evolves in to “approved”, we will let you know.

In our first action packed episode we talk about doing a podcast and Briar Hollow. Let us know what you think!

Briar Hollow Cards for Comic Book Legal Defense Fund

Recently here in Portland, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) hosted a drink and draw where comic book artists drew their own characters on blank trading cards to be included with card sets at San Diego Comic-Con. These are images of Briar Hollow characters that some lucky individuals will end up owning.
